She can be temperamental to her potential suitor and has been said by enthusiasts that her making a meal of the male signifies a successful mating. If she is read to mate she will allow him to raise her up and inseminate her. If successful he will be able to move away before the female chooses to attack him.<\/p>\n
Housing: <\/strong><\/h2>\nDue to their fondness of tree climbing; an enclosure that is taller than it is wide is needed. This is an exceptionally large tarantula so a very large enclosure is needed. A very secure lid is needed as these spiders have a skill for escaping.<\/p>\n

Habitat layout: <\/strong><\/h2>\nThe Singapore Blue tarantula will very much appreciate a habitat that mimics their natural environment. As this is a tree dwelling tarantula and not a burrower, only a thin layer of a couple of inches of substrate at the bottom of the enclosure is necessary. Coconut husk is fine, but with added moss which will help keep the humidity levels in the enclosure. Plenty of bark and tree branches are necessary for them to climb on. A little hideaway is appreciated but not always necessary. The humidity levels need to be kept well around the 70% mark. Using a spray bottle to spray mists of water in the enclosure should help with humidity.<\/p>\n
